Stabenow and Peters Announce Funding for Health Care in NE MI

U.S. Senators Debbie Stabenow and Gary Peters recently announced over 17 point 3 millions dollars ($17,383,500) in funding to help health centers in Northern Michigan respond to the Coronavirus pandemic.

Those in Northeast Lower Michigan include The Alcona Health Center with 4-point 8 million awarded ($4,887,375.00), and Thunder Bay Community Health Service at 2-point 9 million ($2,925,875.00).

Officials say funding can be used by health centers for staffing, personal protective equipment, screening, testing, or other needs for fighting the coronavirus pandemic.

The funding comes from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services and was included in the American Rescue Plan that was signed into law on March 11th.
