The Rogers City Council recently approved of a variety of special event requests from civic groups and organizations.

For the second year, the annual Kiwanis Easter Egg Hunt has been canceled this year due to covid concerns despite the annual event being a 70 plus year tradition.

But other events were approved, as organizers use city facilities.

The Nautical Festival will be held August 3rd through the 8th, the Fat Hogs ladies fishing tournament August 14th, with a big tourney September 4th and 5th. Captains' meetings will be held the day before each and inclement weather days reserved for after each.

City baseball fields at South Shore Park and Sports Park will be busy for the annual Presque Isle Girls Softball tournaments July 16th through the 18th. Rogers City Area Schools has also agreed to allow use of Gilpin Field diamonds as well.

Of course all events are at the mercy of the pandemic and are subject to state or federal restrictions in effect at the time of the events.
