Gas Prices Stabilizing

The state average price of $2.84 ($2.83.6) for a gallon of regular gas increased by 12 cents in the past week, which is also a dollar 20 higher ($1.20.2) than last year.

Despite the increase, annalists say prices have been stabilizing as the national average declined for the first time since last November, with growing stock levels and cheaper crude oil prices putting downward pressure on pump prices.

The state low and high ranged between $2.45 and $3.19, while the national average was $2.87.

In Northeast Lower Michigan, prices have leveled off a bit. As of Sunday evening, Alpena was $2.73... Gaylord $2.75... Oscoda $2.79... while Grayling, Cheboygan and Rogers City were $2.89.
