Alpena Man Arrested for Assault With a Dangerous Weapon

An Alpena man was arrested last Tuesday (November 9th), for assault with a dangerous weapon, according to the Michigan State Police.

Officials say, at around 2:14 a.m., troopers from the Michigan State Police (MSP) Alpena Post responded to a residence on Canterbury Lane in Alpena Township for a report of a man threatening his roommate with a firearm.

The victim, a 34-year-old Alpena man, alleged his roommate, 25-year-old Ian Lessard from Alpena, began making accusations against him and threatened him while holding a shotgun. A witness was able to disarm Lessard and Lessard left the scene. He was located shortly after walking east towards the high school by officers from the Alpena Police Department. Troopers arrested Lessard and he was lodged in the Alpena County Jail.

Lessard was arraigned in the 88th District Court in Alpena County where he is charged with one count Assault with a Dangerous Weapon.
