Top Best Hunting Practices for Firearm Deer Season
Sat, 13 Nov 2021 06:02:21 EST

Department of Natural Resources (DNR) Conservation Officers say hunters can expect excellent deer hunting conditions, but say hunters can avoid the most common violations and mistakes they see every year.

The top 10 includes not properly tagging your deer, knowing your firearm and how it functions, knowing your target and what’s beyond it, respect landowner rights, share public land, leave the land better than you found it, wear hunter orange, know and follow baiting regulations, hunt in-season, and be respectful to other hunters.

Officers also investigate acts of hunter harassment - which is when a person or organization intentionally sabotages another hunter’s quality opportunity to take game.
