Last night (December 20th), Alpena City Council members had a second reading and approved amending the city's marijuana ordinance.

Officials say the purpose was to implement and establish a uniformed licensing and regulatory process for Medical and Adult-Use Marihuana Businesses to the extent permissible under provisions of current Michigan law.

The ordinance would also provide for a means of cultivation, processing, and distribution of marihuana to patients who qualify to obtain, possess, and use marihuana for medical purposes and for eligible adults with proper qualifying identification to obtain, possess, and use marihuana for legally allowable individual purposes.
