State Police of Alpena say they have arrested a 17 year old juvenile from Ossineke after a series of crimes including allegedly stealing a vehicle and was later caught with methamphetamine.

The incidents started on Monday (20) north of Alpena on US-23. A resident reported a young man walking up asking if he could use their car, which was refused. Other reports included a subject breaking into a vehicle on Northland Drive, a suspicious male on a property attempting to start a pontoon boat on blocks, attempted theft of an ATV at another location on Wessel Road, and a running vehicle abandoned in the roadway taken from a nearby residence.

Taking footwear images and doorbell video, police later found the suspect hiding in a field off Wessel Road with a bag of methamphetamine in his possession.

The juvenile is believed to be responsible for several recent breaking and entering complaints and faces charges of unauthorized driving away of a motor vehicle, possession of methamphetamine, and resisting and obstructing, with more charges likely.
