RC Council Adopts Food Truck Ordinance

The seventh time on the agenda was the charm as the Rogers City Council adopted a food truck ordinance.

Over the past few months the issue was tabled or held up with various language changes and discussion. With final changes approved Tuesday evening, the ordinance goes into effect 15 days after publishing.

Overall, an operator is limited by distance requirements, the number of times permits can be obtained, making application to the police department except during the Nautical Festival, along with special provisions for private or non profit organizations and other requirements.

In a separate action, the council established fees of 1-hundred 50 ($150.00) dollars for a yearly permit, 75- dollars ($75.00) for a monthly version and 25-dollars ($25.00) per day.

As far as vending on city owned property, permitted locations are still under review.
