Alpena Township Board Approves Capitol Improvement Plan Training

Charter Township of Alpena Board of Trustees have approved participating in a Capitol Improvement Plan or CIP training session.

In general, the Michigan Association of Planning offered an on line or in person version, as trustees desire to develop a CIP, or long range planning document for infrastructure, buildings, roads, or other township needs. The question is how does the township get started, and what should be included in a CIP document. The trustees and planning commission would be participants in the workshop.

It was mentioned other townships or county might want to participate and that would lessen the 15 hundred dollar cost for the two and a half hour on line version. The City of Alpena expressed no interest as they already have had a CIP for years.

Trustees approved of the expenditure, and offers will be made to other jurisdictions to participate.
