Montmorency Agencies - 121 Calls For Service

Montmorency emergency service agencies responded to 121 calls for service in the past week.

Deputies made no arrests but handled three animal / vehicle crashes an alarm and dispute. There were 14 inmates lodged at the Alpena County Jail.

The bulk of response activity was on EMS calls with 33 and 16 fire calls.

June 13th

1:01 PM A motorcycle deer crash was reported in Montmorency Township. No one was injured in the crash. Deputies along with Tri Township EMS and CCR first responders responded to the scene.

10:34 PM A deputy responded to a vehicle deer accident in Albert Township; no one was injured. The officer took the report and cleared without incident.

June 17th

1:12 PM An erratic driver was called in to the sheriff’s department, deputies responded; they located the vehicle and initiated a traffic stop.

2:00 PM Multiple calls came in throughout the day referencing trees down, trees on powerlines and people with out power due to the gusty winds.

5:17 PM Vienna Fire was dispatched to assist Otsego County in locating a wild fire along with DNR Fire responders.

6:53 PM A welfare check was requested on an elderly female in Briley Township; contact was made and found to be fine.

8:36 PM A call came into the center referencing a tree that had broken due to high winds and snapped a power line pole resulting in a low hanging wire on Cohoon Rd; Hillman fire responded as well as PIE&G.

8:58 PM Another 911 call came into the center about a tree in the road way and another down tree on a powerline in Albert Township; Lewiston Fire responded as well as PIE&G; all units cleared without incident.

10:20 PM While on routine patrol; an officer reported a down tree on Fleming Rd that was blocking some of the westbound lane. Road commission was contacted.

10:44 While on routine patrol an officer was approached by a subject in Albert Township an investigation is ongoing.

11:27 PM A deputy responded to a commercial burglar alarm in Briley Township; the building was found to be secure and the officer cleared without incident.

June 18th

6:38 PM A Hillman resident called into the center referencing a couple of road hazards due to down trees blocking the road way; The Road Commission was notified.

9:18 PM Hillman Fire responded to a commercial fire alarm in Hillman Village; responders cleared without incident and the establishment was found to be secure.

11:41 PM Law enforcement along with Albert Township Fire and EMS all responded to a single vehicle crash where a male subject hit a tree; the driver was ticketed for careless driving. No one was injured; all units cleared without incident.

June 19th

8:57 AM While on routine patrol deputies came upon a motorist who needed assistance, they stopped; the driver asked them to contact a tow company for her.

12:27 PM A hit and run was reported at a business in Hillman Township; this is still under investigation.

3:08 PM While on routine patrol deputies came upon a disabled vehicle, they stopped to assist the driver and cleared without incident.

8:52 PM Deputies responded to a dispute in Briley Township; the parties were separated for the evening. Officers cleared without incident.
