RC Purchases New Computer Server For City Hall Mon, 20 Jun 2022 06:02:57 EDT
Its been a tough technology go in the City of Rogers City as their main central file server crashed.
That brought much business to a screeching halt as Word or Excel documents were not accessible along with the city financial tracking software BS&A.
A city technology consultant was able to patch things together and get things running again in a few days time on a temporary measure.
But as it is industry standard to replace computers or servers at least every five years or sooner, and the bad server was over 5 years old, it was decided to replace it.
That cost will be over 52 hundred dollars ($5,245.00), which will be split across several funds in the city budget.
