During their most recent meeting (July 9th), AMA-ESD (Alpena Montmorency Alcona Educational Service District) Board members approved a proposal for asbestos abatement at Pied Piper School.

ESD Superintendent Scott Reynolds explained the December 2019 Asbestos Inspection Report for Pied Piper refelcted the presence of asbestos containing material, or ACM, in the exterior window caulking and window sills throughout the building.

At that time, and in the existing state, the ACM did not present an active risk which required abatement, but now a full abatement of the ACM, was recommended.

A quote was provided by Quality Environmental Services for the amount of $7,320, which the board approved by unanimous vote.
