On Tuesday, August 4th, 2020, voters in the Alcona Community School District will be asked to consider a millage proposal to provide capital improvements to school district facilities.

Superintendent of Alcona Community Schools Daniel O'Connor said listed on the ballot 18 Mills Operating Millage, which provides 90% of the district's operating revenue from the state. He added the the district "would have great difficulty operating" if this didn't pass.

Also listed is a "new" sinking fund O'Connor says it's a renewal of the 2015 sinking fund but listed as new due to new state flexibility to replace technology and add security features as allowable uses in addition to brick and mortar infrastructure.
