Coronavirus Cases Continue To Increase Slightly in Northeast Lower Michigan

Michigan has topped 75-thousand confirmed cases of the coronavirus.

The state health department announced 523 new cases Wednesday, along with 6 new deaths. The number of hospitalized patients is creeping back up as well, just under 500 statewide.

Meanwhile, the percent positive is back down around 3 percent. The biggest increases in cases continue to be seen in West and North Michigan, including a few more in Northeast Lower Michigan in the past week.

As of Wednesday afternoon, District Health Department #4 had 15 deaths and 157 cases, with Alpena County reporting 111 cases and 13 deaths. Other counties include Cheboygan with two deaths and 26 cases, Montmorency had seven cases and Presque Isle County had 13. 127 persons have recovered.

In the District #2 Health area, there were 181 cases, as Alcona had 23 and one death, Iosco 106 and nine deaths, Ogemaw 35 cases and two deaths, while Oscoda County had 17 cases and one death. 130 have recovered.
