LOWV Files Appeal to MSCSun, 26 Jul 2020 06:01:26 EDT
The League of Women Voters of Michigan has filed an appeal in the Michigan Supreme Court over a recent ruling on absentee voting rights.
The original lawsuit was filed with the Court of Appeals in May. The Court of Appeals ruled 2-to-1 against the League recently. They're asking the Michigan Supreme Court to reverse the decision upholding the requirement that absentee ballots be received by local clerks by 8 pm on Election Day.
They say the requirement will disenfranchise tens of thousands of voters.
