Montmorency Agencies Respond to 97 Calls

Emergency Service agencies in Montmorency County responded to 97 calls for service in the past week.

Deputies investigated seven each of alarms, disputes and animal control calls, along with one animal / vehicle crash. They also arrested two subjects on a warrant and a traffic related incident.

Tri-Township EMS had 15 calls while Hillman had 11, and Lewiston four. Lewiston and Hillman Fire Departments had one call each.

July 20th

8:06 PM Dispatch received an ATV complaint in Albert Township. The deputies were advised.

July 21st

8:39 AM MCSO was advised of a residential burglar alarm in Vienna Township. A deputy responded and found everything to be secure. All clear at 8:59 AM.

4:09 PM Dispatch was advised of an erratic driver on Olsen St in Albert Township. A deputy responded and searched the area.

6:00 PM Dispatch was notified of a commercial burglar alarm on Hanson Ave in Albert Township. A deputy responded to investigate. The keyholder called, said everything was okay, and said it was an accident. The deputy was advised to disregard.

8:11 PM MCSO was advised of a residential burglar alarm on Camp 8 Rd in Vienna Township. Deputies responded to investigate. Everything was found to be secure. All clear at 8:33 PM.

July 22nd

12:05 AM MCSO was advised of a verbal dispute on Co Rd 612 in Albert Township. A deputy spoke with those involved and the parties were separated for the night.

1:24 AM A deputy responded to a hit and run in Briley Township. This is still under investigation.

4:37 PM Dispatch was advised of a residential burglar alarm on M-32 in Briley Township. A deputy responded to investigate. It was found that a repair man accidentally set off the alarm and everything was okay.

10:01 PM A traffic stop was made by MCSO Deputy on M-32 in Briley Township. One male was taken into custody on operating a motor vehicle without a driver license.

July 23rd
2:16 PM MCSO was advised of a residential fire alarm in Montmorency Township. The Hillman fire department was dispatched, and the fire was extinguished.

7:53 PM A deputy responded to the Bourn St area in Albert Township to look for an erratic driver. They were unable to locate the vehicle described.

8:01 PM Dispatch received calls about a four-wheeler driving erratically on Third St in the Village of Hillman. A deputy responded but did not locate the ATV described.

July 24th

4:57 PM MCSO was notified of someone on a jet ski riding through the swimming area on East Twin Lake in Albert Township. The DNR was notified and spoke with the subject. He was given a warning.

6:00 PM A deputy responded to the M-32/M-33 junction area for 4-wheelers riding on the side of the road in Avery Township. They were gone prior to law enforcement arrival.

7:10 PM Deputies responded to a residence on M-32 in Vienna Township for a domestic dispute. All involved were separated for the night and all units clear at 7:42 PM.

July 25th

5:25 AM Dispatch was advised of a vehicle in the ditch on Co Rd 491 near Agren Rd in Albert Township. A deputy responded and no injuries were reported. A tow truck was called to remove the vehicle.

10:59 AM A verbal dispute between family members was reported via 911, deputies responded the dispute was settled. Deputies cleared without incident.

5:32 PM An Albert Township resident called to report that a male subject who is an acquaintance of his hit him over the head and stole his backpack, deputies responded to the scene; investigation is ongoing.

7:23 PM Dispatch was advised of a residential burglar alarm on Ferguson Rd in Hillman Township. A deputy responded and everything was found to be secure. All clear at 7:42 PM.
10:12 PM MCSO was advised of a commercial fire alarm in Montmorency Township. The keyholder was contacted and advised it was a false alarm caused by burned popcorn and no response was needed. Law enforcement that was responding was advised to disregard.

July 26th

1:42 AM Dispatch was advised of a noise complaint on Pine St in Albert Township. A deputy was advised and checked out the area. All was quiet.

2:36 AM Dispatch was advised of a single vehicle accident on Co Rd 459 in Hillman Township. A deputy and troopers responded and advised that the driver was no longer on scene. This is still being investigated.

10:28 AM Dispatch was advised of an erratic driver on M-33 N near Voyer Lake Rd in Briley Township. A deputy in the area looked for the vehicle described but was unable to locate.

10:35 AM MCSO was advised of a commercial fire alarm on M-33 N in Montmorency Township. Canada Creek Ranch was called, and they advised it was just a smoke detector in one of the rooms. All okay and no response needed.

11:42 AM A 51-year-old male from Atlanta was arrested in Oscoda County on a MCSO warrant. Subject was picked up and lodged.

6:17 PM Deputies responded to a dispute on Co Rd 491 in Albert Township. The parties were separated without an issue. All clear at 7:17 PM.

9:24 PM Dispatch was advised of a tree branch on the power line and no power on Big Antler Rd in Albert Township. The power company was called and given the information. They advised they already had people on their way to work on the area affected by the outage.
