After being canceled in April due to the Coronavirus pandemic, the Alpena County Electronics recycling Day has been tentatively set for September 12th.

The day has gotten to be quite popular as collections of old computers, VCR's TV's and similar items has increased.

If all goes as planned, the collection will take place at the Alpena County Fairgrounds on 11th Avenue on September 12th between 8:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m.

The collection is for residents of Alpena County only. Organizers say they will need to set up a fee schedule for out of county folks and businesses if they show up that day with electronics. Recycling Manager Stan Mischley says he has made arrangements with Bay Area Recycling for Charities out of Traverse City to collect the electronics.

"Of course we will be looking for volunteers that day to assist in the collection', Mischley said and you can contact the Resource Recover Center if you can help out or have any questions.
