Four third period goals surged the Red Wings ahead of the Sharks in San Jose, a 7-4 win ending their 4-game slide. David Perron had the big game, a goal and two assists Moritz Seider had the game winner to snap a 4-4 tie. That brings Detroit to 20 points on the season and they’re within 2 points of second place in the Atlantic Division. Detroit’s next game will be against the Columbus Blue Jackets tomorrow on the road. Face off is at 7 p.m.

The Pistons opened up a 6-game road trip out West with a loss in L.A. to the Clippers, 96-91 after leading by 8 at the half. Bojan Bogdonovic led all scorers with 26. Detroit shot just over 19% from three. That's 5 straight losses for Detroit and they have another game in L.A. tonight against the Lakers. Tip off is at 10:30 p.m.

First set back of the year for Michigan basketball. They lost to Arizona State, 87-62 to fall in the winners game of the Legends Classic in New York.

As for Michigan football, they will have their final home game of the season against Illinois tomorrow at noon. Meanwhile, the Spartans host Indiana, also tomorrow at noon.

And it was made official, Downtown Detroit will host the Bills and Browns on Sunday after extreme weather caused the league to move the game from Buffalo to Ford Field.

And Major League Baseball announced the MVP awards for the past season. Aaron Judge was named MVP of the American League and Paul Goldschmidt was named MVP of the National League. This is the first MVP award for both players. Judge set the American League record with 62 home runs in a season and also led the Majors in RBIs (131), OPS (1.111), OPS+ (211), total bases (391) and runs (133). Goldschmidt had a batting average of .317 with 35 homers and 115 RBIs in helping lead the Cardinals to the NL Central title.
