Michigan won their second straight Big Ten Championship Saturday night against Purdue, 43-22. Donovan Edwards had another big game with 185 yards rushing and a touchdown, while JJ McCarthy threw three touchdown passes and Freshman Defensive Back Will Johnson had two interceptions. This is Michigan’s 44th Big Ten Title in their history. It’s the first time they have won two straight Big Ten Titles, since 2003-04. It’s the first time they’ve ever won 13 games in a season and the first time they’ve had back to back 12 win seasons.

College Football Playoffs set as Michigan will play TCU in their semifinal match up in the Fiesta Bowl. Georgia will face off against Ohio State in the Peach Bowl. Both Games are on New Years Eve (December 31st), with Michigan’s game at 4 p.m. and the Georgia/OSU game at 8 p.m.

Michigan’s basketball team played in London over the weekend. Kentucky beat them in the international game, 73-69 and the Spartans also lost in their Big 10 opener to Northwestern, 70-63.

Optimism is high in the Lions locker room after their 40-14 rout of Jacksonville at home on Sunday. Jared Goff had one of his best games, completing almost 76% of his passes for 340 yards, two touchdowns and no interceptions. De’Andre Swift had over 100 total yards and a touchdown, Amon Ra St. Brown had 114 yards receiving and 2 touchdowns and Jamaal Williams scored his league leading 14th rushing touchdown for the season. Also Receiver DJ Chark after facing his former team with 5 catches for 98 yards and former Wolverine Aiden Hutchinson had another sack, making it 6 in total for the year. The Lions are now 5-7 and will face off against Minnesota on Sunday at 1 p.m.

The Red Wings lost to Vegas on Saturday but won in Columbus last night as Andrew Copp capped off the 4-2 victory with a 3rd period goal, snapping a 3-game skid. Austin Czarnik, Dominik Kubalik and Lucas Raymond also scored goals against the Blue Jackets and Filip Hronek, Olli Maatta and David Perron each had two assists. The Red Wings get their 12th win of the season and will face the Tampa Bay Lightning tomorrow night at 7 p.m.

No luck for the Pistons, who fell 122-112 to the Grizzlies to end their 4-game home stand at LCA Saddiq Bey with 24 off of the bench.
