The Red Wings got one of their biggest wins of the year last night, beating the Lightning 4-2 in Tampa, earning Coach Derek Lalonde a victory over his former team. Ville Husso had another really good game in net making 44 saves, 27 of which came in the third period, and a save percentage of 95.7%. That’s Husso’s 11th win in net so far this year, which is tied for 4th among NHL Goalies. Red Wing Goals came from Michael Rasmussen, Jonatan Berggren, Adam Erne and David Perron. Filip Hronek had an assist which set a franchise record with an 11-game road point streak to start the season. He is now the second NHL defenseman to do that, joining Edmonton's Paul Coffey back in 1986-87 (12 games). The Wings have accumulated over 30 points for the season (31) and move up to 3rd in the Atlantic Division, only behind Boston and Toronto. Their next game is tomorrow against Florida at 7:30 p.m.

Also a road victory for the Pistons, 116-96. Bojan Bogdonovic with 28 of his 31 in the second half, 7 triples Detroit shooting 46% from downtown and outscoring Miami 38-23 in the final quarter. Alec Burks chipped in 18 off the bench.

No big deals yet for the Tigers at the winter meetings but they did get the 3rd overall pick in the first MLB Draft lottery. President Scott Harris says his Ultimate goal is to get to a place where they aren't picking near the top of the draft.
