STATEWIDE SPORTS

Bad loss for the Red Wings as they lost 5-1 to the Florida Panthers. The only Detroit goal came from Jonatan Berggren. This drops their record to 13-8-5. Detroit plays the Dallas Stars on the road tomorrow afternoon at 2 p.m.

Moving to Thursday night football, Baker Mayfield of the Rams throws for 230 yards and the game winning touchdown with 10 seconds left- capping a 98 yard drive- Rams edge the raiders 17-16. Lions have the 4-9 Rams first round pick next year. Lions and Vikings Sunday at ford field

In basketball Michigan is now 6-3, easily winning at Minnesota 90-75.

Michigan's Olu Oluwatimi wins both the Outland Trophy as the best interior lineman and the Rimington award as the best center in college football. He along with Blake Corum and Jake Moody made the Walter Camp All American Team.

The Pistons have another game tonight. They will face Memphis tonight at 8. Memphis is favored by 10.
