STATEWIDE SPORTS

The Lions had their biggest win of the season Sunday afternoon, beating the Vikings 34-23 on Sunday. Jared Goff had another efficient game, completing over 69% of his passes for 330 yards, three touchdowns and no interceptions. He had a passer rating of 120.7 and a QBR of 70.6. This is the second straight week he’s had a passer rating of 115 or higher and the fourth time in five weeks that he’s had a QBR of 70 or higher. Rookie receiver Jameson Williams, who up until this point was out recovering from an ACL tear while in college, caught a touchdown pass on his first reception as a pro. The Lions are now one win away from a .500 record. The road won’t be easy, as three of their final four games will be on the road. They will travel to New York to play the Jets on Sunday.

The Red Wings weren’t so lucky Saturday afternoon, but they did come away with a point, losing to the Dallas Stars in overtime 3-2. Dylan Larkin and David Perron both had goals, while Austin Czarnik, Ben Chiarot and Moritz Seider each had assists. The Wings are now 13-8-6 with 32 total points for the season. Their next game will be at home against the Carolina Hurricanes Tuesday night at 7 p.m.

The Pistons have now lost three straight after losing to the Lakers on Sunday 124-117. That drops their record to 7-22 which is still the worst record in the league. Their next game is on the road against the Charlotte Hornets at 7 p.m.

And the Tigers Spring Training schedule has been released. Their first game will be on Saturday, February 25th at 1:05 p.m. against the reigning National League Champion Philadelphia Phillies.
