STATEWIDE SPORTS

The Lions beat the winter storm by leaving a day early for North Carolina; they arrived Thursday afternoon for their Saturday afternoon game against the Panthers. Safety Deshon Elliott officially ruled out for the game. Derrick Barnes and Frank Ragnow questionable. The Lions are looking to get their overall record to over .500 for the first time this year. Game time is at 1 p.m.

No need to travel for the Red Wings, their game tonight in Ottawa has been rescheduled for February due to winter storm advisories. They won't play again until Wednesday when they play the Pittsburgh Penguins.

The Pistons game is still taking place tonight. They were already on the road and will take the Atlanta Hawks for their final game before Christmas. Tip off is at 7:30 p.m.
