After their lopsided loss to the Panthers, the Lions are still in position to potentially make the postseason. The Lions are now 7-8 and need help to make the postseason. The Packers have the same record after they beat the Dolphins 26-20 they and Detroit are scheduled to play in the final week of the season. Detroit's acquired first round pick from the Rams also falls outside the top 5 after LA ran over the Broncos, 51-14.

Lions head coach Dan Campbell says they'll do everything in their power to fix the problems they saw on tape in their setback against Carolina. The Lions are now preparing for a game vs Chicago in Week 17.

The Pistons let one slip away at home giving up a 14 point lead with 3:30 to go, shocked by a Clippers team who took out starters and still came back to send the game to overtime and eventually win by 11, 142-131. The collapse at home was their 6th straight loss.

Downtown Detroit hosted Monday's bowl game, a 24-19 win for New Mexico State over Bowling Green in the Quick Lane Bowl.

To college football, stand out defender Jacoby Windmon says that he plans to return to Michigan State football for his 5th season next year. The three-time Big 10 defensive player of the week was suspended for the final 4 games for his role in the Big House tunnel incident on October 29th.

And Michigan's football team officially touched down in Arizona to prepare for their playoff semifinal game on Saturday.
