STATEWIDE SPORTS

The Red Wings won in dramatic fashion last night, 5-4 in overtime. The Wings went down 4-0 after the first period. Starting Goalie Ville Husso was pulled after that in favor of backup Magnus Hellberg, who didn’t allow a goal the rest of the way. Goals came from Jonatan Berggren, Dylan Larkin, David Perron, Joe Veleno and Jake Walman, who hit the game winner in overtime. Detroit gets their 15th win of the season and have 37 points for the season. No rest for them though, as they have another game tonight against the Buffalo Sabres at 7 p.m.

The Pistons also won, beating the Orlando Magic soundly, 121-101. Saddiq Bey and Alec Burks combined for 60 points off the bench while Jalen Duren had 18 rebounds. The Pistons get their 9th win of the season, and have another game tomorrow night against the Bulls, on the road. Tip off is at 8 p.m.

And in college basketball, Michigan and Michigan State have games over the next two days. Michigan will host Central Michigan tonight at 7 p.m. while Michigan State will host Buffalo tomorrow night at 6 p.m.
