The Red Wings beat the Toronto Maple Leafs at home, 4-1 for a second
straight victory. Early goals for Lucas Raymond and Robbi Fabbri plus an empty netter by Ben Chiarot and another goal by Mo Seider to seal it. It's Fabbris third score since returning last week. This is the Red Wings first win against the Maple Leafs since February 1st of 2019. The Red Wings will finish off their home stretch with a game against the Columbus Blue Jackets on Saturday at 7 p.m.
In college basketball, a chance to beat Iowa on the road with seconds to go wouldn't fall and they'd be outscored by 9 in an overtime final score of 93-84. The Wolverines were up as many as 10 in the second half and wasted a career night by Jett Howard, who hit 7 threes and scored 34 points.
Michigan State has a basketball game tonight against Illinois. Tip off is at 9 p.m.
Over to college football, outgoing Michigan pass rusher Mazi Smith gets 12 months probation during sentencing for his gun charges handed down last month.
Finally, the Pistons have another game tonight. They will host the New Orleans Pelicans at 7 p.m.
