Alpena Public School officials have announced that Jon Studley has been appointed Athletic Director for the districts 6-12 program.

Superintendent Dave Rabbideau saying in a prepared statement “Mr. Studley has an exciting long-range vision for athletic excellence in Alpena," and went on to say “He recognizes the importance of recruitment and retention. In other words, he recognizes that the seeds for a love of athletics can be planted for our younger students which then translates into a stronger 6-12 program down the road.”

For his part, Studley said “Our goal is to have an athletic program that is inclusive of all grade levels with developmentally appropriate coaching at the junior high level and more advanced levels of coaching at the high school level. This will provide our coaches the ability to collaborate as one unit and progress each program in a positive direction.”

Rabbideau added, “Great days are ahead for Alpena Athletics. Mr. Studley is the right person with the right vision to lead our athletic program.”
