Through 24 games, Detroit is currently 12-9-3. That’s a significant improvement from a year ago as they were 7-14-3 through the first 24 games of last season.

Another late charge that comes up short for the Pistons putting up a fight against the red hot Phoenix Suns out West but eventually coming up short 114-103. A 17-0 run in the 3rd got Detroit to within 1 point before Phoenix pulled away Cade Cunningham added 19 and Isaiah Stewart had a 12 point 14 rebound double double.

In college basketball, the Michigan Women's team fell for the first time all season 70-48 to Louisville in the Big 10/ACC Challenge. The Spartans ladies were edged by Notre Dame 76-71.

Saturday’s Big 10 Championship Game between Michigan and Iowa will kickoff at 8 p.m. The Wolverines are looking for their first Big Ten Title since 2004. During the game, Michigan players will wear a patch to commemorate the victims in the Oxford Shooting, including the initials and number of football player, Tate Myer. Four hearts will represent the 4 students who lost their lives.

And with the Tigers locked out along with the rest of baseball, their minor league team, the Mud Hens, hired Gary Jones as the new manager. He has 18 years of experience at that level.
