The Tigers snapped a 3-game losing streak with a 5-3 victory in Minnesota to even the road series. Riley Greene with two RBI hits in the leadoff spot. Matt Manning returned from a 3-month stint on the injured list to pitch 5 innings and give up 3 earned runs with one strikeout.

Only one move made by Detroit in the final hours before the trade deadline Michael Fulmer sent to Minnesota after over 7 years with the Tigers AJ Hinch said Fulmer was emotional when saying his goodbyes. He and Robbie Grossman were both traded for pitching prospects.

On the topic of baseball, another legend lost in the sports world. Former longtime Dodgers Broadcaster, Vin Scully, died at the age of 94. He spent 67 seasons calling games for the Dodgers, beginning in 1950 (when the team was located in Brooklyn) and ending in 2016. His run calling games was the longest tenure of any broadcaster with a single team in pro sports history.

Lions first rounder Aiden Hutchinson said he bounced back during the teams second day in pads during training camp working on rushing from the inside for the first time since his early days at Michigan.

Another big basketball commitment for Michigan State getting 4-star forward Gehrig Norman out of Texas for their 2023 class.

Dolphins owner and U of M booster Stephen Ross, punished by the NFL for tampering, suspended into October, fined 1.5 million dollars and has a 1st and 3rd round draft pick taken from his team.

And a happy birthday to Michigan alum Tom Brady. He turns 45 today and is returning for his 23rd season in the NFL.
