Alpena Fire Department Responds to Animal Rescue

Alpena City Fire and EMS responded to an animal rescue Saturday morning (May 29th)

Officials say, at around 11 a.m. Alpena City Fire crews received a call from a concerned citizen that a cat was stuck up on a telephone pole behind their house. Crews responded immediately to the 500 block of Tawas Street, behind the house in the ally a brownish color cat was noticed sitting up on a cable junction box about 20 ft off the ground.

After accessing the situation, officials elected to call Georgie’s Towing, who was able to respond with a bucket truck.

The cat was safely brought down to the ground where it was let go and it scurried off down the alley looking for its home.
