Things were pretty wet in the month of May.

According to automatic weather data recording equipment at the Alpena County Regional Airport, just over three inches of rain fell (3.39), which was over a half of an inch (.61) higher than normal (2.78). The greatest amount occurred during May second and third.

The average mean temperature of 53 degrees was just four tenths (.4) cooler than normal (53.4) with the highest temperature reaching 90 on the 21st and coolest of 25 on the 1st.

As far as snowfall, none was recorded in May, but for the season - which ends this month - the area recorded 52 and a half inches, just over 25 inches (25.1) lower than normal (77.6).
