Tough Week For Alcona Schools And Covid Cases
Fri, 16 Apr 2021 06:01:07 EDT

Thursday, Alcona School officials were notified of three new staff cases who work primarily at Alcona Middle/High School of COVID-19.

As a result, the district will be working to notify staff and students to quarantine, if needed. The district will continue to proceed with other academic and extracurricular programming as currently planned.

Earlier in the week, on Monday, officials were notified of two confirmed cases of COVID-19 involving high school students - one new case and another older case. Then, officials were notified of a new confirmed case of COVID-19. However, that student was working 100% online for this semester so there are no additional staff or students to quarantine.

Officials say they are collaborating with District Health Department No. 2 to ensure that all precautions have been taken to protect children.

They also ask that parents and guardians monitor children for the onset of symptoms related to COVID-19, including fever, cough, difficulty breathing, headache, diarrhea, new fatigue, or loss of taste or smell. If you notice any change, you should keep them home and call your regular medical provider.
