As previously reported, the AMA-ESD board recently authorized its administration to distribute nearly 1 point 4 million dollars ($1,376,539.00) including Act 18 funds and Medicaid reimbursement.

The amount provided to local districts included over 259 thousand ($259,339.00) to Alcona Community Schools, over 994 thousand ($994,498.00) to Alpena Public Schools, nearly 54 thousand ($53,720.00) to Atlanta Community Schools and almost 69 thousand ($68,982.00) to Hillman Community Schools.

Officials say Act 18 dollars also include the distribution of local funds collected through the Special Education Millage, which voters renewed in 2016. Millage funds also go to support programming and services through AMA ESD, including but not limited to Pied Piper School.
