Alpena Man Arrested for Assault With a Dangerous Weapon

An Alpena man was arrested for assault with a dangerous weapon earlier in the month.

Officials say, on April 3rd, at around 5:30 p.m. troopers from the Michigan State Police (MSP) Alpena Post responded to a report of an assault in progress at the Walmart parking lot in Alpena. The incident began on Chisholm Street when a 67-year-old man from Alpena brake checked a 38-year-old Alpena man. This began a road rage incident that ended in the parking lot of Walmart.

Witnesses at the scene stated the 38-year-old man, identified as Robert James Hundley assaulted the victim and was holding a knife at the time of the assault. The victim alleged Hundley hit him with the handle portion of the knife during the assault. The victim was treated at the scene by EMS for a facial injury.

Troopers recovered a knife from his vehicle and Hundley was arrested and lodged in the Alpena County Jail. He is being charged with one count Assault with a Dangerous Weapon. His next scheduled court appearance is on April 29th, at 2:30 p.m.
