Kathryn Kunze - Alpena Zonta Club “Woman of the Year”

The Alpena Zonta club held their 55th annual banquet Wednesday, and during the event, Kathryn Kunze was named “Woman of the Year”.

Kathryn was presented with a Crystal Vase, engraved for the occasion and a bouquet of yellow roses, a symbol of the Zonta Clubs all over the world.

Born in Alpena, Kunze has been married to her husband Lew for 25 years. They have 3 children, 7 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.

Some of the organizations Kunze has been involved with are: Chair Person of Trinity’s Victorian Tea for over 25 years, Thunder Bay Theater, Association of Lifelong Learners, and Friends of the Library Boards, Gifted and Talented Program for Alpena Public Schools, Eucharistic Visitor, Co-Coordinator for Trinity Funeral Meals and Receptions along with being the church Sunday Supper Cook, and the list goes on.

Pam Richardson & Natalie Nadeau of the Zonta Club Emceed the Event.   The Guest Speaker was Rose Nowak.

The Zonta Club of Alpena is a member of Zonta International, a worldwide service organization of executives in business and the professions working together to enhance the status of women.
