Alpena County Road Commissioners recently approved of various road agreements with townships.

Dust control agreements include over 30-thousand dollars with Alpena Township ($30,500.00), over 15-thousand with Ossineke Township ($15,200.00), an agreement with Long Rapids Township totaled over 27-thousand dollars ($27,500.00), as well as an agreement with Sanborn Township totaling over 26-thousand dollars ($26,500.00).

Projects involving gravel placement on various rural roads include two agreements with Wellington Township worth 28 thousand dollars, four agreements with Long Rapids Township total over 57-thousand, four agreements totaling nearly 73 thousand dollars with Ossineke Township, and six agreements totaling over 93-thousand dollars with Sanborn Township were all approved.

Road projects with townships are usually on a 50 percent cost share basis between townships and road commission. However, townships pay for applied materials for dust control and the commission covers application costs.
