Presque Isle County Commissioners recently received the 2021 county Equalization Report and found that the overall property value went up slightly in 2020.

The total value of all real and personal property listed in the county was at over 8-hundred 94 million ($894,401,582.00), or over five percent (5.3%) higher than 2019.

In 2019, there was an increase of just over two percent and under two percent in 2018, Brege noting the trends show continued upward values.

The State Equalized Value or SEV for real property was over 8-hundred 57 million ($857,949,732.00), or an increase of just over five percent (5.2%), and all personal property was valued at over 36 million ($36,451,850.00), an increase of over seven and a half percent (7.51%).

Commercial values were at 29 million, up over 15 percent, mainly due to new construction of the Presque Isle Electric facility in Onaway and retirement community in Rogers City.

Taxable value on property in the county was at over 7-hundred 30 million ($730,451,645.00), or an increase of nearly four percent ($3.68).
