State Police say earlier this week, a man was arrested after allegedly threatening a female with a knife.

Tuesday evening, a Trooper was flagged down by a female on Old 27 near Thumb Lake Road who alleged her ex-husband had just threatened her with a steak knife where they live at a residence in Vanderbilt.

She had left work to bring him his cell phone and other items, came home to find him intoxicated, asking for money while holding a kitchen knife in a threatening manner.

Troopers responded to the home speaking with the man, identified as 57-year-old Frankie Joe Schweizer who would only talk to troopers through an open window and refused to come outside.

After learning he would be going to jail, he sat down in a living room as Troopers entered the home and took him into custody, also seizing a kitchen knife adjacent to Schweizer that resembled the one described by the victim.

Schweizer was jailed, and arraigned Tuesday for one count Assault with a Dangerous Weapon, and one count Domestic Violence Second Offense.
